Aga Zaryan (previously performing as Agnieszka Skrzypek) graduated with honors from the Warsaw Public School of Music, and then studied under the legendary Ewa Bem in the Department of Jazz Song Studies at the Bednarska Street Music School in Warsaw.
In 1998 she took second place at the International Jazz Singers Competition in Zamosc,, subsequently receiving scholarships to attend two international jazz workshops in the United States – the Stanford Jazz Workshop and Jazz Camp West, where she gained further knowledge under the instruction of such internationally recognized vocalists as Rebecca Parris and Madeline Eastman.
In 1997 she had already performed at the Warsaw Autumn modern music festival, backed by an orchestra conducted by Jacek Kasprzyk. A year later she performed with a string quartet at the "Passage – Panorama of Modern Music" festival. In 2000, she and pianist Michal Tokaj performed in the United States, playing a jazz repertoire.
Her debut album, "My Lullaby", recorded with Tomasz Szukalski, Darek „Oles” Oleszkiewicz, Michal Tokaj and Lukasz Zyta, appeared in March 2002. The album received great reviews in Poland, as well as Japan, where it was officially released. "My Lullaby" was also nominated for the Polish Recording Academy's "Fryderyk" Award, in the "Jazz Album of the Year" category.
Since then, Aga has performed at clubs and festivals in Poland, the USA, Israel, England, and the Czech Republic. Readers of Jazz Forum magazine voted her one of the best polish jazz singers of the year ("Jazz Top 2004", Jazz Forum, Feb. 2005).
In March 2006 the artist recorded a new album “Pickung Up the Pieces” with Darek 'Oles' Oleszkiewicz (the music producer of the project), Larry Koonse, Munyungo Jackson, and Nolan Shaheed. The album got rave reviews in Poland.

Some reviews:
”A singer out of Poland who has apparently been knocking them out in Europe.”
L.A. Weekly, February 2006
“She is credible, suggestive, and gifted with the ability to create an atmosphere so intimate that we feel as if she were singing just for us. “Picking Up The Pieces” is an album of captivating warmth.”
– Marek Dusza, Rzeczpospolita, November 2006
“An intimate tale of a woman's emotions, set to the rhythms of swing and bossa nova. Among the 11 tracks on the CD are compositions by Aga Zaryan, several jazz classics, and an outstanding interpretation of Leonard Cohen's timeless “Suzanne”. Another world-class album from Poland!”
– Twój Styl 2006
“Her singing in English is by far the best of that of any of our female vocalists.”
